Rest in Peace Tony Snow

A good man passed away far too soon today…

Former White House Press Secretary, syndicated columnist, Fox News Sunday host and CNN contributor Tony Snow passed away today at the age of 53 from a long, brave battle with cancer. May he rest in peace.

It’s times like these that should bring out the best in people, some empathy, some sympathy, a realization that politics does not define who someone is as a person, it’s simply a part of a bigger picture. But, sadly, that is not how the American Left works these days. There is this civil, well written and thoughtful post at Kos that pays tribute to friendship beyond politics and gets down to the humanity of all people. Unfortunately, despite a plea from the author to keep is civil, the comments spiral into vitriol and hate pretty quickly. Huffington Post doesn’t even allow comments on their story about Tony because they’ve learned civility and respect for political differences simply doesn’t exist on that side of the aisle.

Tony, you were a good man, good husband, good father and good friend. Rest in peace and let others expose their true nature. You will be missed.

Not particularly a political voice I ever agreed with, but this is unfortunate. His high profile efforts to battle cancer belongs in the Hall of Fame of decades of work. Lance Armstrong, Molly Ivins, and Tony Snow are a few of thousands that who’s work to cure this disease is admired. Rest easy Tony.
