Ralph Nader goes after Obama for “acting white.”

How someone “acts white” or “acts black” is something we are glad we don’t understand, though we’re less happy about know people who “act like jackasses.”  Such is the case with perpetual also-ran Ralph Nader.

The other day he sat down with the Rocky Mountain News (must’ve been a really slow news day in Denver) and accused Barack Obama of “acting white.”

“He wants to show that he is not a threatening . . . another politically threatening African-American politician,” Nader said. “He wants to appeal to white guilt. You appeal to white guilt not by coming on as black is beautiful, black is powerful. Basically he’s coming on as someone who is not going to threaten the white power structure, whether it’s corporate or whether it’s simply oligarchic. And they love it. Whites just eat it up.”

Can’t really imagine anyone waking up on November 5th with buyer’s remorse realizing they voted for a Marxist because of “white guilt,” whatever the hell that is.

Way to go, Ralph, just when we thought you couldn’t be any more irrelevant you go an prove us wrong.  Well played, Yoda, well played.

    Whatever dude.

“Ralph Nader will be a guest on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos, Sunday June 29, 2008. (Check here for broadcast times in your area).

By the way, there are many definitions of “talking white.”

Here’s our definition, from the Nader/Gonzalez dictionary:

Talking white means telling the white corporate power structure what they want to hear, rather than calling them out and telling them what they need to hear.
