Considering this story from today’s Evening Standard of London, taking vitamins provide no benefit and may actually shorten your life! Seems a group thinks vitamins a, c and e are a complete waste of time.
This shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone, true or not, because we’ve all seen this before – something is touted as a wonder-cure, everyone consumes mass quantities of it, then another study a few years later says they were wrong and it either kills you or makes no difference at all. More government grants are given out, more studies done, same conclusions reached with different study subject. It’s essentially lather, rinse, repeat, but with out tax money.
Here’s the truth there is no money in telling: you’re going to die of something, no matter how hard you try. Sure, something things will speed up that process like, say, mercury shots or rat poison cereal, but for the most part cutting out trans-fats and running 50 miles a day, while you’ll probably feel and look better, won’t really do much to stop you from kicking the bucket, especially in the long run. Accept it and enjoy your time here because you never know when you’re going to get hit by a bus…but be certain, there is a bus coming.
Wonder how long it takes before people realize this same sort of clueless doom and gloom with no clue stuff applies to global warming?
