Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and staffer charged for perjury, obstruction.

Kwame Kilpatrick has some problems.

The Mayor of Detroit, Kwame Kilpatrick, may be on his way out the door soon.  He and his former mistress, ex-Chief of Staff (no jokes, please) Christine Beatty, were caught lying under oath about their extra marital affair when text messages between the two were made public, and the pair are now facing some serious criminal charges.  It sounds like Bill Clinton all over again, except this time the Democrat establishment isn’t riding to the rescue.  Seems Democrats are still feeling the burn from the Eliot Spitzer affair and don’t want to be known as the party of corrupt officials.  That and the fact that the Clintons have lost their shine in the eyes of liberals, tossed aside like they were one of Bill’s “bimbos” for the less baggage Obama by the liberal elite.

Seems Wayne County Prosecutor Kim Worthy, has decided party loyalty isn’t as important as holding everyone accountable to the same legal standard.  Good for her.

Kilpatrick and Beatty face 15 years on the perjury charges, Detroit faces another generation of high taxes, high unemployment, horrible schools, high crime, etc., etc., thanks to more corrupt, inept leadership.

Kim Worthy spoke powerfully about justice and the law. It was wonderful stuff.
