Eliot Spitzer and hookers: Wall Street is going to love this!

The next question goes to the hooker I slept with last night in the back, there.

New York Governor Eliot Spitzer is in a bit of hot water, and we don’t mean a hot tub (well, maybe).  Seems he’s connected to a prostitution ring and has been for some time.   Oops.

He’ll hold a press conference shortly and do a mia culpa, proclaim his love of his family and, if the latest trends continue, enter rehab for something or other.

Since he’s a Democrat, expect liberals to rally around him.

One thing is for sure, this could be a good week for you if you own stock.  Wall Street hates this guy because of his Holier than Thou crusade against the business community while he was NY AG.

Sure, it’s only Monday, so we’re going to hold off on calling it, but someone is going to have to something HUGE to beat out Eliot for Douchebag of the Week.

Update: Fox News is reporting that Spitzer will resign as Governor of New York.  Of all the corruption investigations happening regarding his administration who would’ve guessed it was the prostitutes that would bring him down.  Then again, politicians rarely resign for what the public is told they are resigning for…

Questions:  If you’re this kind of scum, why wouldn’t you just have an affair?  Why hookers?  Better yet, why not get divorced?  Why even run for public office?  Are people really that power hungry and arrogant that they think they can get away with this sort of crap?  Seems like it.

What a complete jackass!

Expect the Left-wing blogs to bring up noted Republican hooker-lover David Vitter.  That would fall under the category of “Well, this guy did it, too!” that they are so fond of.  Difference being Vitter isn’t facing charges.  Louisiana residents are free to vote against Vitter, who was found out after the statute of limitations passed, and he should be challenged in the primary.  But that does not change the facts of the Spitzer did.  No amount of distraction will change the facts of what Spitzer did, but that won’t stop the Left from trying…

The Dow: Oddly enough, it did rebound around 2:15 (when the story broke), but has since reverted to the realities of business, not this jackass going down…politically, that is.

It’s getting to the point where we can no longer trust any ethics reform proposals for our public servants which come from a member of a major political party.

Don’t expect Wall Street to press this too hard…who do you think keeps the escort services in business? There are probably a boatload of Wall Street guys sweating bullets right now hoping their names don’t get leaked.

You have to love these guys who run on ethics reform and get caught up in stuff like this. A costly mistake, in more ways than one, no doubt.
