This Week’s winner of the coveted Douchebag of the Week Award is the mainstream media. While always in the running thanks to their complete douchebaggery, their completely “in the tank” approach to what constitutes news these days has pushed them over the top to victory.
While the MSM has long been known for their liberal bias and the extent to which they will go to advance a left-wing agenda, they’ve lately been turning on their own. While we appreciate the fact that they are finally “getting tough” on a Clinton (though it’s 15 years too late), they have yet to turn that “skeptical” eye on Barack Obama. In fact, they’ve been actively ignoring a story that has been bubbling under the surface for months.
Barack Obama has, er, had a long-term supporter and big-time fund-raiser named Tony Rezko who, as it turns out, if facing a lot of charges for bribery, among other things. Yet, unless you surf the Web and really dig for a story on it (usually on a blog), you won’t find much on it. In fact, you’ll probably find a story by the media about how the media isn’t covering it rather than simply doing the research and writing or producing a story on it. How F-ed up is that?
Time will tell if there is any “there” there, but will the mainstream media? In 2006, you couldn’t turn on a television or open a newspaper without hearing about Republican “ties” to “disgraced lobbyist” Jack Abramoff. Conrad Burns was lambasted for this “ties” to Abramoff and no story was written about his race without mentioning it, and he lost. Turns out there was no “there” there and Burns was cleared of all charges. Tough to find that story mentioned anywhere like the “investigation” was.
For not applying anything close to the same standard to Barack Obama they do to Hillary Clinton, let alone Republicans, the mainstream media is this week’s Douchebag of the Week.
