Singer Kanye West famously said “George Bush doesn’t care about black people.” Well, if you ask fellow musician and actual humanitarian, he might say, “Kanye West doesn’t care about the truth.”
Bob Geldof, the man who brought the world Live Aid and Live 8, among many other charitable events, has penned an article on President Bush that paints a different picture of our 43rd President than you are likely to see on your nightly newscast, CNN and definitely MSNBC, because it’s a look at the man and his impressive record on fighting AIDS in Africa. Since Bush has single-handedly done more to combat the disease and keep people alive than every other President before him combined, the mainstream media doesn’t report on it, doesn’t fit the agenda.
But Geldof isn’t interested in taking sides and scoring political points, he wants to tell the story the way it is.
For those of you convince President Bush is an idiot who only cares about his rich oil buddies (and there are a lot of you ignorant people out there), read the article by Geldof and open your minds. Sadly, it’s more likely you see Geldof as a tool and go burn your copy of the movie The Wall.
