Christopher Hitchens nails the media

What we are up against in the war on Islamo-fascism is rarely discussed in the media out of either fear of offending some Americans or simply fear.

Christopher Hitchens takes them to task in his column today.

What on earth is the point of a newspaper of record that decides that the record itself may be too much for us to bear?

Read the whole thing.

No wonder the “terrorists” aren’t afraid of us. Their co-conspirators are the memembers of the Leftwing press. They are more offended that our enemies are going to be offended than if any citizen of this country is offended. My God help us.

I’d say the terrorists are afraid of us since we’ve been crushing them ever since 9/11. I believe the terrorists fear the Bush administration because they know Bush isn’t held back by laws or domestic politics. I’d say it’s more than just the left-wing press that are unconscionable cowards since only two US publications reprinted the cartoons. They fear losing money from advertising and if the Muslim world became pissed enough, direct attacks on employees. I think their attitude is to not poke an angry and large population over silly things like cartoons, hoping that this population will grow up someday and be reasonable about silly things. They don’t realize that Muslims around the world want nothing to do with being modern or moderate.
