James Pickett is 80 years old and:
In short(er), he’s a bad ass!
Two goons tried to rob him at his home, cut him up pretty good in their attack, too, but James got the better of them; he shot one and they ran away. Well, they ran about as far away as someone who’s been shot could run.
Brothers Holden and Paul Perry have been arrested and are in police custody, and Paul is in a lot of pain, charged with assault, burglary and robbery charges (why not attempted murder? Throw the book at these jerks) and won’t see the light of day for a while, nor probably should they ever.
A neighbor describes Picket as a “hero.”
Worried about retribution, friends are sticking close.
Deputies assure James Pickett they aren’t likely to get out of jail anytime soon but he isn’t worried.
“I think I’m a ten times better shot than and he is… But they best not come back,” he said.
We agree with his neighbor’s assessment.
