Earth to the media: Al Gore did NOT win an Oscar!

The media lies continue…You would think the simple facts would come easily to the media, but those are the ones they most often get wrong.

The media is filled with loyal subjects of Pope Goreus VI and his Holy Church of Global Warming, and while they willingly buy his word as gospel on the issue of global warming, they are also actively seeking to pump him up any way they can.  The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have given them one of their favorites, the Oscar.

How often have you read the line “Oscar winner Al Gore” in a news story?  The reason they do it is because, in this country in particular, celebrity is everything.  Talent and achievement are nothing compared to the latest exploits of a celebrity.  Hell, even Iraq takes a back seat to the latest rehab stint my whomever.  So they make Al Gore more of a star by referring to him as an Oscar winner.  Only problem is, he isn’t.

Yes, the movie “An Inconvenient Truth” won the Oscar for best animated children’s film, er, documentary, but Al Gore didn’t.  The way the Oscars work is the producers get the Oscar, not the subject of the documentary.  David Guggenheim won the Oscar for a movie featuring Al Gore, Al Gore got nothing but rich off of it.

Gore went up on stage and gave an acceptance speech, in violation of the MPAA rules that only allow winners to give speeches, which gives the impression that Gore won because of the pictures of him holding it.  If the Oscar is in Gore’s mansion it’s only because Guggenheim gave it to him.

But we still get stories that call Gore an Oscar winner.  The laziness of the media never ends.  And neither does their attempts to build up the man to be more than he is.

LLP, how do you combat McCain? He, according to your “thoughts,” has every right to keep the war going and you, as someone who hasn’t served, can’t say anything. So what do you do? find a new way around your crap? Or just shut up? Probably just shit yourself and pretend you never said what you’ve said, if I had to guess.
