More legal guns, less gun crimes – the “duh” moment of the day

Liberals would like to shoot this.

Some in Michigan are shocked that gun-related have not increased exponentially since the state made is easier to exercise Michiganders’ Second Amendment right and allow people to obtain a concealed carry permit.  This is only shocking to the media, and completely ignored by Liberals because it hasn’t been “studied.”That is what left-wingers do, they take common sense and study it in the hope that it will go away.

Here’s how common sense people would look at this.  If you’re in a state where pretty much anyone can carry a gun, and you want to rob someone, wouldn’t you be a little more nervous than you would be if you were in a state or city where carrying a gun wasn’t allowed?  Even if you have a gun.  It’s assumed you would have a gun because you’re a criminal about to commit a crime, so you’re not really into obeying the law.  Your victim is most likely a law abiding citizen, so they would be unarmed in a place that banned guns.  Easy picking.

Think of it this way: You want to rob a house and you’re standing or a street with only 2 houses, and people are home a both.  One has an NRA sticker in the window, the other has no stickers in the windows.  Which one are you going to choose?

Even though the numbers in Michigan say gun crimes are down, the “logic” of the Left doesn’t let those facts stand in the way of a good story.

Shikha Hamilton of Grosse Pointe, president of the Michigan chapter of the anti-gun group Million Moms March, said she believes overall gun violence (including suicide and accidental shootings) is up in Michigan since 2001. Many incidents involving CCW permit holders have not been widely reported, she said.

Hamilton said that even if gun violence has ebbed, it remains pervasive, tragic and unnecessary. At the least, a more liberal concealed weapons law means there are more guns in homes and cars and on the street, she said, and more potential for disaster.

So if a shooting doesn’t appear in the papers it somehow isn’t counted in crime statistics?  Interesting…

Then there is this beauty:

Kenneth Levin, a West Bloomfield physician, was one of those critics. In a letter to the Free Press in July 2001, he referred to the “inevitable first victim of road or workplace rage as a result of this law.”

Last month, Levin said he suspected “it probably hasn’t turned out as bad as I thought. I don’t think I was wrong, but my worst fears weren’t realized.”

He wasn’t wrong, he just was the opposite of right.  Watch for this guy to seek the Democratic nomination for Governor next time around.

Why they can’t just admit the commonsense answer show the intellectual dishonesty of these people.  They aren’t hindered by facts, they just hate guns, and nothing will stand in their way of trying to stop you from living your life the way you choose.  You’re either an idiot who would shoot yourself if you had a gun, or you’re an idiot/rage machine who would shoot other people at the drop of a hat if you were angry and had a gun.  They know better than you what’s good for you!

By the way, West Bloomfield and Grosse Pointe have many, many gated communities with private roads and armed guards…

Just about every policy promoted by Collectivist “Progressives” is contrary to common sense. Violent crime (with guns and without) has significantly decreased in every state that has made it easy to get a CCW permit. The highest crime states are still the ones that refuse to acknowledge reality.

TYPICAL OF RIGHT-WINGERS, GOTTA HAVE YOUR GUNS. YOU DON’T NEED TO HUNT FOR FOOD, SO GIVE THEM UP! HOW MANY INNOCENT PEOPLE HAVE TO BE KILLED BEFORE YOU REALIZE GUNS AREN’T THE ANSWER? SCREW THE SECOND AMENDMENT, PEOPLE DESERVE TO BE SAFE!
