I mean when I had my apendix out they sent a doctor to my home at 2am and it took him 15 mins to get there to check me out and diagnose me - then went to hospital had it done and was allowed a weeks recovery in hospital even though I only needed 2 days... free - they even gave my parents the money to cover their transport costs to and from the hospital so they could come - they paid me hahaha - sucks to be you... oh and I have never paid for a prescription in my life... its all free if your under 21. Realistically, I don't see how you can possibly argue that your system is better... i mean if you somehow survived say 5 heart attacks here it would in no way effect your financial situation... PHC: Yes not sure what socialized factors mean, but you are proving his point, any of these factors are up for debate and will extrapolated a million diff ways by a mill diff people. Summary: Our current system has many problems that need immediate attention. Specifically the amount uninsured, heartless insurance cos, rising costs, lack of choice, poor information flow, defensive medicine, etc. But people come to the US for a reason, people survive here with serious conditions more for a reason. Since they cant factor in risky lifestyles and lazy individuals, the WHO rankings simply do not add up. We can all agree we have to reform the current system, but we must remain vigilant and rational in discussing the means to that end. Surprised there are so many uninformed postings on this topic.

The people who have been complaining the most about not being able to afford insurance are middle class and selfish. They won't give up their toys and entertainments to ensure they can take care of themselves when they are ill. If it's choice between eating and health insurance you have medicare and medicaid to rely on. If its a choice between health insurance and the newest video game then how dare we ask they pay for their own! I do not want to have to worry about the quality of care for my children. And no I don't care about the people who are too selfish to take care of business and want me to pay more taxes for an "everyone" system. The fact is we are not all equal, some people work harder, some people are smarter, and some people deserve to propagate the species when others do not.
