Jack Cafferty (seen on the left in the photo) is moron. There’s no way to sugar coat it, it’s just the way it is. He’s pretty much the human version of the two old Muppets who complain about how horrible the show is throughout the show. There are a lot of Chinese people upset over his comments about China, the government of China and some of the defective products that have come out of there in recent months. First of all, he’s free to be a moron, and he’s free to make offensive comments, which is clearly something Chinese nationals don’t understand. Second, not many people watch CNN any more, so by raising a stink about his statements you’re also raising the profile of those statements.
Now CNN is being sued for $1.3 billion, a buck for everyone living in China, for insulting the Chinese people. The suit was seemingly filed without recognition of the irony of itself.
It’s time to go away and let this die, don’t watch CNN if you’re offended/annoyed by Cafferty, we don’t. But suing someone for being stupid is, well, stupid.
