Stuff Hill People like…You had to know it was coming.

Where Hill People meet.

First there was the blog, “Stuff White People Like,” a very funny site that has become wildly popular.  Since imitation is the sincerest form of trying to make a profit off of the talents of someone else, we now have another funny site called “Stuff Hill People Like.”

If you’ve ever work on the Hill, or in state government, you’ll enjoy this site quite a bit.  If you haven’t, well, maybe you’ll realize just how much of your tax dollars are wasted and stop sending big-government, high-tax, high-spending, ignore the Constitution people to represent you in government.  But we doubt it.

Jimmy Carter to meet with terrorist leader of Hamas – this should surprise no one.

Jimmy Carter and friends...

The extreme American Left is no friend to Israel, and they never have been. Considering how all the world’s socialist/communists regimes have treated Jewish people, this should could as a surprise to no one; birds of a feather and all. But leaders of the “blame America first” coalition have, to this point anyway, had enough common sense to avoid meeting directly with world leaders who call for the complete destruction of Israel and the killing of all the Jews. Jimmy Carter may be on the verge of breaking the 4th wall on that one and meet with Khaled Meshal, the exiled leader of the terrorist group Hamas.  At least that’s what is being reported and is not being denied by Carter’s spokesman.

Considering Carter has made every effort to undermine the United State’s efforts to fight terrorism, this is about as shocking as the sun rising in the east this morning.  Still, Carter will be held out as an example of how this country should be by so-called “progressives.”

Liberal progressives are under the impression that they can talk their way out of anything, which may have something to do with the fact that they are funded largely by trial lawyers who talk juries into multi-million dollar settlements for people who burn themselves with coffee thanks to their own stupidity.  It was this mentality that led the US to give North Korea pretty much everything they’d ever need to build a nuclear bomb as long as they promised not to build a nuclear bomb.  This “deal” was struck in an attempt to stop North Korea from pursuing materials from which to build a nuclear bomb.  And guess what North Korea did…

Jimmy Carter was quite probably the worst President since the 19th century, and we say this with full knowledge of Warren G. Harding’s existence.  He should stick to building houses, not giving aid and comfort to the enemies of liberty.

Yet Another Democrat Double Standard

Democrats have perpetually whined about Republican obstructionism in the Senate, ever since regaining control of the Senate.  Who’s really obstructing who?

As the Wall Street Journal reports, Democrats appear to be the true obstructionist of the people’s free will.  The President, re-elected with over 50% of the vote in 2004, has the responsibility to appoint judicial nominees by our Constitution.  The Senate, controlled by democrats, has confirmed only 6 Bush appellate court nominees.  Specter confirmed 15 for Clinton.  Everyday people depend on the judicial process to gain justice and restore their lives; to leave it shorthanded is to deny or prolong justice to the American people.

Maybe the court is full, you ask?  It so happens that there are 11 nominees being blacklisted by commie sympathizer Leahy.  Leahy has held one hearing since September.  That’s 1, for those of you who didn’t catch that.  And that hearing was held during a recess.  Grand overtures from the party that decries the partisan politics of the “evil” Rove. (Note the dripping sarcasm.)

To go further, 57 district court judges were seated during the last two years of Clinton’s presidency, only 37 so far for Bush.  Nineteen of these seats are “judicial emergencies”, meaning the filings are becoming unmanageable.  Where is the bi-partisan Obama when you need him?  Again, note the dripping sarcasm.

Finally, Republicans had enough.  Senator Coburn confronted Leahy in the Judiciary Committee hearing, and inquired about the lack of a hearing for the 4th district judicial nominee, Robert Conrad.  Leahy retorted that Black had many anti-Catholic remarks.  This goes to show what a liar and partisan Leahy is, as Conrad is a practicing Catholic.  It should not soon be forgotten that Leahy is the senator who spoke on the Senate floor for hours about Dick Cheney being a crook, and then cried when Cheney would not be nice to him.

Just another day in the life of democrats – find a double standard, and exploit it…even if it means hurting the American people.

Here is what Democrats Stand for…

As if we needed a reminder…Tuesday’s Wall Street Journal reminds us what tax policies the democrats want to enact by letting the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts expire

“If they do, statutory marginal tax rates will rise across the board; ranging from a 13% increase for the highest income households to a 50% increase in tax rates faced by lower-income households. The marriage penalty will be re-imposed and the child credit cut by $500 per child. The long-term capital gains tax rate will rise by one-third (to 20% from 15%) and the top tax rate on dividends will nearly triple (to 39.6% from 15%). The estate tax will roar back from extinction at the same time, with a top rate of 55% and an exempt amount of only $600,000. Finally, the Alternative Minimum Tax will reach far deeper into the middle class, ensnaring 25 million tax filers in its web.”

This will drive the personal income tax burden up to 25%.  In the half century where America fought in Vietnam, Korea, sent man to the moon, crushed unemployment to below 5%, built the greatest army in the world, and funded liberal welfare movements such as “Great Society”, the personal income tax burden has been 7.9%.

What the hell are we getting for the 16% percent increase in personal burdens?
