Obama begins to lie

You will do what he says and not look at what he does!

Obama on the campaign trail has repeatedly called for a change in the way Washington does business.  It seems he is not the one to be able to deliver that change as he begins to lie about Senator McCain’s positions.

As Charles Krauthammer explains, McCain’s “100 years” comment has been grossly misquoted and interpreted.  McCain said troops could stay in Iraq for 100 years so long as they are not in harm’s way.

Obama, who has complained that people have only heard 30 second sound bites of Rev. Wright’s speeches, has this to say of Senator McCain’s foreign policy:

– “He (McCain) says that he is willing to send our troops into another 100 years of war in Iraq” (Barack Obama, Feb. 19).

– “We are bogged down in a war that John McCain now suggests might go on for another 100 years” (Obama, Feb. 26).

It would seem rather hypocritical of Obama on one hand to complain about a twisted sound bite, and then use a twisted sound bite to malign his opponent.  That seems to be, as they say, business as usual in Washington.

Does this mean Obama will vote for who he considers honorable, if it is not himself?

Senator McCain actually has generally operated in an honorable way” – Barack Obama, 3/20/08.

Douchebag of the Week – The United Nations

Douchebag of the Week!Surprisingly the United Nations had not yet won the coveted Douchebag of the Week award before today, though it has not been for a lack of trying, there have just been so many worthy nominees that the UN has not risen to the level needed to win…until now.

Need proof that the UN has no ability to learn from past mistakes and is an anti-American, anti-Israel, anti-freedom socialist organization?  Remember when they appointed Sudan to the Human Rights Commission?  An nation that is still practicing slavery having a say over complaints on human rights abuses should have tipped even the most Utopian liberal, but hypocrisy never seems to bother them.

That is why the UN elected Jean Ziegler to be a member of their “advisory committee” to the UN’s Human Rights Council.  What wrong with Ziegler?  Aside from his support and praise for Fidel Castro, Robert Mugabe, Kim Il-Sung and nearly every other left-wing dictator you can imagine, he’s also praised a well-known French Holocaust denier as “one of the leading thinkers of our time.”

Clearly Ziegler is much more interested in advancing an anti-freedom agenda than he is human rights, which will mean he will fit in quite nicely at the United Nations.  It also means he’s a complete douchebag on monumental scale.

But since he didn’t choose himself to join a committee that is the antithesis of everything he stands for, he was chosen by bureaucrats at the UN, it is they, not he, who wins the prestigious Douchebag of the Week Award.  Your tax dollars hard at work.

It pays well the preach to the poor – Jeremiah Wright, Barack Obama’s pastor, is building a $1.6 million house.

Obama and Wright, two rich guys.Jeremiah Wright, the misunderstood lover of all according to Barack Obama, has made his career and name by preaching to the poor about the virtues of God (not to mention all the other garbage…) apparently made a pretty good living doing so.  He’s not talking about it, and the mainstream media isn’t interested in looking into anything that would make their candidate look good, but Fox News did and uncovered the truth of the matter.  He’s building himself a $1.6 million, 10,000+ square feet retirement home.  Hate pays, or so it would seem.  Must be nice.

Obama won’t be talking about it, and probably won’t be asked, but it’s pretty interesting that someone who grew up pretty well off would spend his life preaching to the poor about how bad they’ve got it, then take their money and build himself a mansion in a gated community the suburbs and only one news outlet even batted and eye, to borrow a phrase from the good reverend.  Perhaps his chickens are coming home…

Howard Dean makes an attempt to act like Chairman of the DNC, but changes the rules in the middle of the game.

Mr. Happy, Coward Dean, er, Howard Dean.Coward Dean, er, Howard Dean, Chairman of the DNC, seen most frequently on the side of milk cartons thanks to his lack of leadership, it attempting to grow a pair and act like a leader.  The operative word in that sentence is “act” since he has as much spine as cooked spaghetti.  He is now saying he wants the superdelegates, the unelected party officials and super donors/fundraisers, to make up their minds by July 1 as to whom they are going to support so they can get a nominee.  This is new and is akin to changing the rules in the middle of the game.

As if the superdelegate concept wasn’t fascist enough, to change the rules at this late date is typical of the left, they don’t like things that they don’t have control over.

Dean should just come out and endorse Barack Obama because that’s  what this amounts to by shaving time off the clock for Hillary Clinton to make her case to superdelegates.  As screwed up as their system is, that’s their system.  To change the rules now is, well, typical.
