The 22 percent solution – Democrats are starting to hate each other.

Rasmussen is reporting that 22 percent of Democrats think Hillary should drop out while 22 percent of Democrats think Obama should drop out.  What’s amazing is that those are the numbers even though the media seems to be actively campaigning for Obama.  They would like nothing more than Hillary to drop out, even going to far as to say she CAN’T win without the superdelegates.  Well, Obama CAN’T win either without the superdelegates.

The Democrats are at war and neither side can win without using undemocratic methods.

Global Warming myth strikes Facebook with feel good garbage.

Turn on your lights to fight global warming myth.

Got the email below from Facebook today.  Seems they’re going to shut off their lights for an hour Saturday night.  What heroes of the planet!  How many people do you suspect are working at Facebook from 8-9 pm on a Saturday night?  Bob the janitor of Fred the engineer?  This is straight-up feel good crap that will do absolutely nothing.  Who the hell is surfing Facebook on a Saturday night, anyway?  Why not shut the site down completely for an hour?  Well, because that would cut into their revenues.

Leave all your lights on the Saturday night between 8-9 pm just to counter this stupidity.  Global warming is not caused by human activity, the extent to which our planet is warming or cool has to do with that big ball of fire in the sky, the sun.

Here’s the email:

Where I’ve Been is supporting this year’s 2008 World Wildlife Fund Earth Hour! What is Earth Hour? Click here for detailed information.

This Saturday we are shutting off all of our lights from 8-9pm!

Why are we doing this?
If all Where I’ve Been users turns off their lights for one hour, we can reduce this year’s carbon footprint by approximately 22,290,910 pounds. That’s equivalent to saving 400,000 trees or preventing 8.4 million pounds of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere. WOW!!!

What can you do?
Turn off your lights!

Last year 2.2 million people shut off their lights for one hour to show their awareness towards global warming. If we can help to spread the awareness, we can become a part of a great cause that will help to preserve the earth!

Join Where I’ve Been in this Earth-saving crusade by visiting our page and signing up!

Let’s help fight global warming together and keep our Earth a spectacular place to travel!

An Obama Presidency Would Lead To A Weak National Defense

In a world that is at least as dangerous as the world was during the Cold War, can our security afford a President Obama?

With the rapidly approaching emergence of China as a Superpower, the failing democracy in Russia, terrorism, instability in South America, Iran, Iraq, North Korea, the threat of rogue missile attacks and dirty bombs among the list of possible threats to the U.S., is now the time to dismantle our military?

Barack Obama thinks so – have a listen:

Supreme Court Sides with U.S. Constitution, Rejects Interference from So-Called International Court of Justice.

They can get some things right in the Supreme Court, who knew?

In a major victory for American legal sovereignty, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that American states are not bound by the meddlesome and politicized rulings of the International Court of Justice. The decision also slapped the hands of the Bush Administration, which wanted to sidestep the legislative process and unilaterally order states to comply with treaty obligations.

The Wall Street Journal explains here.

Senator Carl Levin’s War on Taxpayers.

The government wants your money, just give it to them.

In a remarkable display of chutzpah, Senator Carl Levin of Michigan is quoted in the Christian Science Monitor stating that “Tax havens have declared war on honest taxpayers.” This is from a politician who routintely votes for higher taxes has a rating of “F” from the National Taxpayers Union because he votes against taxpayers 85 percent of the time – a record that puts him below Senators Hillary Clinton and John Kerry.

Tax havens, by contrast, have helped taxpayers by forcing governments around the world to lower tax rates. Indeed, a prominent British accountant explains in the story that low tax rates are the appropriate way to deal with global competition. Returning to the them of chutzpah, an OECD bureaucrat (who receives a tax-free salary!) actually admits that people should have a right to financial privacy – but only if the term is stripped of all meaning by giving governments unlimited snooping rights:

“Tax havens have declared war on honest taxpayers,” says US Sen. Carl Levin (D) of Michigan, who along with Sen. Barack Obama (D) of Illinois is co-sponsoring the “Stop the Tax Haven Act,” introduced last year. …Chas Roy-Chowdhury, head of taxation at Britain’s Association of Chartered Certified Accountants…says… “Governments should open themselves up to the wind of global competition and accept that they need to run efficiently to keep tax rates low.” …Perez-Navarro [of the OECD] adds that individuals should have the right to a certain banking confidentiality, but that when investigators want to see numbers they should be handed over.”

3,000 monitors say Earth is cooling, media says nothing.

Global Warming Jelly - Because we’re all screwed by this myth.

The media cared, once. The New York Times reported in the year 2000 about the deployment of about 3,000 oceanic probes.

When the probes reported back that the climate is a complicated issue, and the Earth has shown slight cooling, the NYT turned the other cheek.

These probes are scattered around the world in the oceans sampling temperature and salinity. Over the 8 years these probes have been deployed, NASA scientists say they show a slight cooling. Not constant temperatures, or even growing temperatures; it shows cooling temperatures.

These facts pose a large problem for alarmists. They’ll find a way to fabricate stories and spin the facts so they can keep swindling people into buying carbon credits.

Science is more complicated than Al Gore claims it is; the science should be discussed truthfully and in an open manner before the U.S. destroys it’s economy over a myth.

Dictator Hugo Chavez supports Democrats – Shocking!

Hugo and Fidel - Yeah, they totally do it.

In the most shocking turn of events since the sun came up in the east this morning, Hugo Chavez said that US-Venezuelan relations could worsen if John McCain is elected President.  Chavez, the hero of Hollywood, said, “McCain also seems to be a man of war,” while amassing his troops on the border with Colombia in defence of the terrorists attacking Colombian civilians.

Hugo Chavez is a dictator who oppresses his people and wants to consolidate all power in the government, is it really a shock that Hollywood supports him and he supports Democrats?

Kudos to Chelsea Clinton for her answer to the Monica question.

Kudos to Chelsea Clinton. We aren’t big fans of the Clintons, there’s no doubt about that, but we give credit when credit is due.  We’ve been critical of Chelsea, and still are, for her refusal to speak to the press, even though she is actively campaigning for her mother, but in Indianapolis yesterday a questioner from the audience (not the press) crossed the line and Chelsea put the guy in his place.  (It’s unclear if he was an Obama supporter, but given the bad blood lately in the Democrat primary it wouldn’t surprise us.)

At a campaign event she was talking with the audience and was asked about her mother’s credibility and whether or not it had been hurt by the Monica Lewinsky scandal.  Chelsea verbally smacked the guy down and took another, final question.

Think what you will of the Clintons and the Monica issue, as was said just a moment ago, we do, but Chelsea isn’t the person to ask.  She is not responsible for her father’s irresponsibility and there’s no point in pouring salt on that wound with her.  Policy questions, yes, absolutely, but not personal questions about her parents marriage.

We don’t ofter fret about “the line” but that definitely crosses it.
