While we’d like it to be true, that the campaign of Hillary Clinton is faltering to the point of no return, but it’s a little too soon to make funeral arrangements. In politics, a week is a lifetime, three weeks is a generation gap.
There are a lot of stories out there about how this is the end of the Clinton campaign, and even some Democrats are happyabout that. But if there’s one thing the Clintons are good at doing, it’s lulling their opponents into a false sense of security, then slitting their throats.
So, while this looks as though it is something from which she can’t recover, don’t count her out until the bell rings.
No one is a saint, and in politics that is particularly true. Senator Clinton said yesterday that she would no longer be negative about her fellow Democrats, would run a positive campaign. That should make the Obama camp nervous. In Clinton speak, take what they say and assume the opposite. Obama should be preparing for round after round of attacks, all by surrogates just far removed enough from the campaign to remove any Clinton fingerprints.
Will he be able to withstand them? Time will tell. But rest assured, they’re coming. Especially after you released this video.
Clintons don’t take kindly to pointing out the obvious, which is why they love the media.
