It used to be that when you mentioned Iraq and bomb in the same sentence you were talking about a tragedy, not any more. (Even the Democrats running for President are shifting their surrender strategy to one more about the “politics aren’t working” than the old “we can’t win” line. Hell, the politics in this country aren’t working thanks to the
Democrats, so they do know a thing or two of what they speak.) This time the bomb we are talking about came from Hollywood, not Iran, and it was directed by Brian De Palma and directed at our military.
De Palma’s movie “Redacted” was released to less fanfare than a direct to DVD movie by Roger Corman. No theaters wanted to waste a screen on a fictional movie about how our troops are horrible people, which turned out to be the correct business decision.
Opening on just 15 sceens across the country, all of which are in theaters owned by the film’s money man, Dallas Maverick’s owner Mark Cuban, the movie probably didn’t even pull in enough cash to cover the cost of the celluloid upon which it was printed. Making only $25,628, or $1, 709.20 per screen, only about 3,000 people watched it.
We couldn’t be happier about this total and complete rejection of this bit of anti-military propaganda. De Plama made his feelings and thoughts clear what he thinks of the military and this country and they have returned the favor.
