In order to explain why her husband’s campaign is failing and nobody wants to hear what he has to say, Elizabeth Edwards recently played the race and gender cards, both at once. “We can’t make John black, we can’t make him a woman. Those things get you a lot of press, worth a certain amount of fundraising dollars. Now it’s nice to get on the news, but not the be all and end all.”Oh, yes she did just go there.
Maybe this shouldn’t be surprising, considering that the only substantial coverage her husband has received recently is attributable to his string of tantrums about the media’s conspiracy against his ill-managed joke of a campaign.
Could it be that the old Johnny Cool Breeze act just isn’t being swallowed this time around? Two Americas? The mill town? How ‘bout a little John Mellencamp? Anybody? No? Must be Fox News’s fault.
It’s sad that this is the only thing you can say about John Edwards because he’s the one you’re most afraid of. He has a real plan to provide health care to all, not just the poor, end poverty and get us out of this mistake of a war we were lied into. The country will be much better of with John Edwards than we would be with any of the ReTHUGlicans running.
